Connecting new moms with other new moms to help them build their tribe of support is our vision. It is a place to come and feel heard, acknowledged and supported. In addition to social support, our goal is to provide valuable information through a network of local professionals.
Project Key Values
Empowerment: New moms can feel overwhelmed and we want new moms to feel empowered in their new role and that includes building their tribe.
Community: New mothers often feel isolated, and our goal is to create a sense of community and a place to get non-judgmental support.
Who Is this group best for?
Any mom with a baby in arms that is looking to build her tribe of support. Our space is not conducive to mobile, older children, so it is a time for you and your baby together.
Who are we?
A little history about our little baby- this group Mom Squad: The facilitator Shelley Whynot runs another group for a local midwifery clinic for women in the first 6 weeks of baby’s life. Due to considerable demand to continue beyond that time, this group was created, and space has generously been offered by Durham Natural Health Centre. We are thrilled to be partnering in order to bring you together! We hope you find your tribe!!
Group time will include a discussion around a specific topic, guest speakers, as well as time to ask and share your burning thoughts and time to socialize with the other mothers in the group.
Please email Shelley at email@example.com with any questions you may have. We look forward to mingling with you and your baby!
